New reMarkable Paper Pure (2026)

reMarkable has been on a roll lately. First the larger, color-focused Paper Pro, then the smaller and more portable Move. Just when it felt like the lineup was complete, new rumors started popping up about yet another device: the reMarkable Paper Pure.

And this one is interesting.

Instead of going bigger, faster, or more premium, the Paper Pure is rumored to go in the opposite direction. Think simpler, more affordable, and focused purely on what reMarkable does best: writing, note-taking, and staying distraction-free.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a reMarkable but weren’t sure about the price, this could be the device that changes things.

Here’s everything we know so far about the reMarkable Paper Pure, from the expected release date to the features, price, and whether it’s worth waiting for.

When is the reMarkable Paper Pure coming out?

There’s no official release date yet, but the current rumors are surprisingly consistent.

Most sources point to a launch in the second quarter of 2026, so somewhere between April and June. Since it’s already April, that would mean an announcement could happen at any moment. This lines up with recent signals like a new device filing and credible leaks suggesting that a new model is in development.

At the same time, there is a chance it could arrive later. Some estimates place the release closer to September, based on how reMarkable has timed previous launches.

One important detail here is how reMarkable typically handles releases. With both the Paper Pro and the Paper Pro Move, the devices were available immediately after being announced. There was no long pre-order period or delay between reveal and release.

So what can you realistically expect? Somewhere between spring and early fall 2026, with the understanding that once it’s announced, it will likely be available right away.

How big will the reMarkable Paper Pure be?

There are no confirmed specifications yet, but the direction of the rumors is quite clear. The Paper Pure is expected to be smaller and more lightweight than the current Paper Pro, which comes with a large 11.8-inch display. Instead, this new device will likely move closer to the size of earlier reMarkable models, making it easier to carry around and more comfortable for everyday note-taking.

Most sources point towards a screen size of around 10 inches or slightly below, combined with more modest hardware. This fits with the overall idea of the Paper Pure being a simpler, more accessible device rather than a high-end flagship.

In practice, this would place it somewhere between the larger Paper Pro and the more compact Move, offering a middle ground in terms of size and portability.

Will the reMarkable Paper Pure have a color screen?

This is one of the most important questions, and here the rumors are quite clear. The reMarkable Paper Pure will almost certainly be a black and white device. There are no indications that it will include a color display like the Paper Pro.

That choice makes sense. Color is one of the main features that positions the Paper Pro as a premium device, and it comes with a higher price because of it. If reMarkable is aiming to create a more affordable option, removing color is one of the most logical ways to do that.

What features will the reMarkable Paper Pure have?

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but based on the positioning of this device, the direction is quite clear. The Paper Pure is expected to focus on the core reMarkable experience, without the extra features that make the Paper Pro more premium.

What it will likely include:

  • The same paper-like writing experience reMarkable is known for

  • Long battery life, designed for days or even weeks of use

  • Cloud syncing through the Connect platform

  • A clean, distraction-free interface for notes and documents

At the same time, there are a few features that will likely be limited or removed to keep the price lower:

  • No color display

  • More basic hardware compared to the Paper Pro

  • Possibly no front light, although this is still uncertain

In short, this looks like a device built for writing first, and everything else second. If that’s exactly what you’re looking for, this stripped-down approach could actually be a strength rather than a limitation.

How much will the reMarkable Paper Pure cost?

There’s obviously no official pricing yet, but all signs point in the same direction: this will be a more affordable entry point into the reMarkable lineup.

The Paper Pure is expected to sit below the Paper Pro in terms of price, likely somewhere in the range of €300 to €400. That would make it significantly cheaper than the current flagship, and much more competitive with devices like the Kindle Scribe and other entry-level e-ink tablets.

This pricing strategy fits with the overall idea behind the device. By removing premium features like color and high-end hardware, reMarkable can offer a simpler device at a lower cost.

Is the reMarkable Paper Pure actually coming?

At this point, this is more than just a random rumor.

Several strong signals suggest that reMarkable is indeed working on a new device. One of the most notable comes from Evan Blass, a well-known and generally reliable source when it comes to product leaks.

In addition, there has been a recent FCC filing for an unknown reMarkable device, which typically happens relatively close to a product launch. There are also signs of trademark activity around the name “reMarkable Paper,” which further supports the idea that something new is on the way.

While nothing is officially confirmed yet, it seems very likely that reMarkable is preparing to release a new device in the near future.

Final thoughts

The reMarkable Paper Pure looks like it could be a very interesting addition to the lineup.

It’s expected to be simpler, more affordable, and focused purely on writing. For many people, that might be exactly what they need. At the same time, it likely won’t replace the Paper Pro if you want a larger screen or color.

If you already know what you’re looking for, there’s no need to wait. But if you’re still deciding, it could be worth seeing what this new device brings.
